Calistoga Welcome Center Ambassador
The Calistoga Chamber of Commerce is seeking to hire a full-time Welcome Center Ambassador. This position functions to work within a Welcome Center operation as well as supports the Destination Marketing functions. The ideal candidate must enjoy working in an ever-changing, high-paced office, interacting with visitors from all over the world as well as with members of the business community. This position requires experience with multiple-line phones, strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to prioritize. Teamwork and collaboration is a must.
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday with some scheduling flexibility based on staffing needs and events, such as the Concert in the Park series and the annual Lighted Tractor Parade.
Compensation: $TBD per/hr + health insurance stipend and 2-weeks paid vacation.
Duties
Welcome Center Operations
- Greet visitors to Welcome Center: be the first point of contact
- Actively answer visitors’ questions using established procedures and information
- Help maintain key visitor information (i.e. restaurant guides, lodging availability and winery contact details)
- Update/organize: collateral, rack cards, and requests for information
- Maintain Retail shop, including cleaning, organizing and stocking any merchandise
- Keep the Welcome Center slideshow up to date
- Tally daily visitor count and business referrals
- Other duties as needed
Destination Marketing Support
- Assist in managing Welcome center programs, such as Business of the Month
- Assist Events & Marketing Coordinator with event support as needed and as directed by the President & CEO and/or Welcome Center Manager
- Other projects as assigned
Chamber Operations Support
- Attend, assist and participate at chamber functions, which include some evening and weekend hours
- Special projects as assigned, including production of Calistoga Visitor Guide and the Wayfarer Maps
- Send out monthly billing and past due notices to all members
Job Requirements:
- Strong Customer Service, oral communication, and organizational skills a must
- Experience uploading content to websites is a plus
- Computer skills in Google Workplace, all Microsoft applications, WordPress, Chamber Master, MailChimp, Drop Box, Cognito Form, Canva, Square (POS System) and other applications as applicable
